Cineflex Launches New Cineflex Ultra

Cineflex Launches New Lightweight Camera System
With the Cineflex ULTRA, customers can customize their five-axis gyro-stabilized system with industry leading Ultra HD cameras, multiple lens, video overlays and geo-pointing options.

Cineflex Ultra

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Global Imaging Technologies has introduced Cineflex ULTRA, a compact gyro-stabilized camera system that can be customized with high-definition 4K and 6K cameras, as well as the longest lens available. The ULTRA incorporates the recently launched geo-pointing option, GEO+, which enables video overlays, system and lens metadata and geo-pointing advanced filming techniques. Additionally, with the Cineflex ULTRA system weighing in at less than 100 pounds, cinematographers, directors and broadcast media have the ease-of-use and flexibility they need to secure the breathtaking images that capture viewers’ imaginations.

“Building on our proven family of Cineflex products, the highly mobile ULTRA gives our customers the exceptional range-performance and unmatched precision and stability they have come to expect,” said Carlo Zaffanella, vice president and general manager responsible for the Cineflex product family. “From blockbuster movies and documentaries to high-profile sporting events to broadcast news, Cineflex ULTRA’s user-friendly interface, small, compact design and geo-pointing option will help our customers deliver creative excellence and technical innovation to audiences worldwide.”

With computer generated imagery (CGI) playing a significant role throughout the cinema and broadcast world, the GEO+ option helps streamline and simplify the post-production process by layering location-specific metadata onto the video. This enhancement allows the production team to readily utilize the GEO+ synchronous metadata to seamlessly integrate CGI with the pure Cineflex video.

Designed with close collaboration between cinematographers and General Dynamics’ design engineers, the Cineflex gyro-stabilized camera system is a compact, light-weight Ultra HD digital cinematography camera system. More information about Cineflex camera systems is available at www.cineflex.com.

The Cineflex family of high-definition camera systems is delivered by General Dynamics Global Imaging Technologies, a provider of high-performance camera systems and components. Los Angeles | A Unique Perspective

Aerial Filmworks just released their newest demo reel of amazing footage over Los Angeles.

All footage created with Cineflex gyro-stabilized systems using a variety of lenses and cameras. Footage includes a unique view of the skyline and time-lapse scenes of the LAX airport.

Cameras included the ARRI Alexa-M and Sony HDC1500 with Canon 14.5-60mm, Canon 30-300mm cinema zooms, and the Fujinon 13x 4.5mm super wide. Sensor sizes were set to ARRIRAW, 2K and 1080p with recording to XR Capture Drives, AJA KiPro, and SxS 64Gb Pro Media.

My favorite shots are the opening scene, and the LAX time-lapse sequences. Great teamwork with the pilots!

~Ron Chapple, Aerial Director of Photography

Time-lapse scenes were flown at extremely slow airspeeds using the ARRI Alexa capability to set custom frame rates. The aerial team worked out of Aerial Filmworks’ new hangar at Hawthorne Airport, just 3 minutes flight time from LAX.
