Aerial Filmworks offers geo-referenced pipeline and transmission line surveys through GEO1, our survey and mapping division. Using the GEO+ Overlay Technology and our proprietary GEO1 hardware, we can deliver real-time data overlays on HD video with GPS coordinates, date and time stamps, and altitude/ground speed/heading information.
Video frame grabs can be used for detailed inspection. Our newest Cineflex systems can simultaneously record high-resolution 1080p HD and 6K video. We can export 19 megapixel frames for further analysis.
NOT JUST FOR HOLLYWOOD
The full 5-axis stabilization of the Cineflex systems delivers high-definition video from safer altitudes outside of the “wire environment” in all weather conditions. And when pipelines or transmission lines go through neighborhoods or cities, the aircraft can fly a higher altitude for noise abatement and safe operations. We use the same camera systems that work on blockbuster feature films for aerial survey. We bring the amazing quality of the silver screen to the survey screen.
Our newest Cineflex ULTRA with GEO+ enables real-time overlay of graphics created from Google Earth KML files. For example, we can record video of centerlines, right-of-way borders, and outline environmental areas all in real-time. This feature allows more accuracy and analytical capability than any other system available.
With military grade accuracy, our geo-targeting feature displays the coordinates of the center crosshairs at the ground intersect. Clients can use geo-targeting and identification to automatically point the camera, or for asset identification and inventory. Our GEO+ system contains a global elevation map at the 1km level with custom elevation data sets available at resolutions up to 30 meters.
The investment in GEO+ surveillance reduces costs through delivers highly accurate surveys. No more searching for the line – the real time display maximizes flight time as the pilot and crews can use the graphic to find the line quickly.

TRANSMISSION LINE INSPECTION
“We could see the corrosion on a cotter pin. This level of detail enables our crews
to perform pro-active maintenance.”
